Do You Need to Pay Sales Tax?

Web Design by Dave is based in Connecticut and follows all applicable state sales tax regulations.

Most of the services we provide — including website design, development, updates, maintenance, consulting, and technical support — are non-taxable services under Connecticut law. These services are not subject to sales tax.

However, certain products are taxable. If your project includes:

  • web hosting that we resell
  • domain name registration that we purchase on your behalf
  • digital goods or downloadable assets
  • software licenses

these items are subject to Connecticut’s 6.35% sales tax rate.

If you’re located outside Connecticut, sales tax only applies if we sell you a taxable product and we meet that state’s economic nexus threshold. This is uncommon for our business.

Nonprofit organizations with valid exemption certificates are not charged sales tax on taxable items.
